We want to restore a level 0 back up on a remote host to a local host using the remote host's tape drive as a device of the local host. Do any one of you has any suggestions as to how to achieve this? Appreciate your help.

Please test replace devname for remotehosts:devname.

Thanks Gustavo. We tried that format. But it failed. We found out Informix storage manager does not support remote host operations. It is mentioned on chapter 3 section 21 of the Informix backup and recovery guide. (Page 93 of the pdf document of this manual.) We have to look for other third party storage management software like LEGATO.
