Hi,

I am trying to restor the Informix database from a tape. There is no problem regarding haredware and tape drive.

I am trying to restore from 9.21 to 9.40.HC2. But, every time it is giving "Physical restore failed - could not read archive tape errno -1".

Can anybody give me some suggestions ?

Restoring between different versions of IDS is not supported,
certainly not main releases.
Use dbexport/dbimport or the high performance loader.
Take special care if you use smartblobs.
