Hi forum

When I try to start my informix server with the command 'oninit' I get the following error message:
"oninit: Fatal error in shared memory creation"
I would try to run the "onstat" command but it displays me this error:
"shared memory not initialized for INFORMIXSERVER '<NULL>'"

I don't know why I can't start the informix server. Where is the reason? Has anyone any tips or suggestions for me?!?

Hi,

You need define INFORMIXDIR, INFORMIXSERVER, ONCONFIG and add this to PATH variable. Next run oninit -v. This in Unix/Linux.
If problem persist, then delete from $INFORMIXDIR/etc/.infos*. next run oninit -v.
