slow Informix client connexion When using DNS

Hi,

I've got a problem on an Informix Server 9.40 on Windows 2003.
When a Windows client attempt to connect to the database server (using ilogin demo), the connexion take more than 10 seconds.
If I remove the DNS server in the server TCP/IP settings, no problem, the connexion is OK !
This seems to be a name resolution issue : don't work using DNS, work using WINS or host files.

Don't know how to solve it, and in a Windows 2003 domain environment, I need DNS.
Did you ever meet that issue ?
Any help would be appreciate !

Thanks,

Fred

The only way we resolved this on an AIX server was to do what you did - take DNS off the server. Informix says it's a DNS issue, period.

Hi,

Thanks...
I don't like the Informix answer, then tried.
And I found a solution, I works on Windows environments (on mine, at least)
I just set up a DNS server ON the Informix server, and configured it as asecondary dns server for my domain .

It works fine.
