Question Managing backup of 2 instances with ISA/ISM/onbar

Hi,
I have 2 10Gb instances (IDS9.4), one for production and one for test. How can I manage 2 separate onbar backup (on disk) with ISA/ISM ?
In both onconfig I set :
ISM_DATA_POOL ISMDiskData # ISM_DATA_POOL value
ISM_LOG_POOL ISMDiskLogs # ISM_LOG_POOL value

When I want to manage ISM via ISA I can't specify specific volume for each instance.

Regards.

Hi,

I think this is one of the limitations of ISM and it cannot be solved without losing support. The trick is that the poolnames are predefined by IBM/Informix and it only supports the predefined pools. On the other hand it is normally nt a big issue to share the pools across several instances.

Greetz,

Red face Thanks

Thanks a lot Rob.
Now, I feel more confident with my configuration.
