Hi everyone, i'm new in this forum.

i'd like to know how can i install informix ods (version 7.23) on w2k. I guest i'm doing everithing correct but the Command Center just don't go into the on-line mode. So i can't set the logical files and other stuffs. Does anybody know some kind of "magic" to do in this case?

The "sagent.log" file give me this message:

"18/01/1905 09:45:15 - Cannot complete the operation because the database server is changing modes or is off-line. Retry the operation at a later time."

Check the online.log (MSGPATH) for more information about the failure.

It gives the message that the database server is online but when i try to set the logical files to another size i have to change to administrative mode and it gives the message that "the database server is changing modes or is off line"

any help?

Not sure what exactly you are doing.

Try these:
1) Login as user ‘informix’
2) Take the informix database server offline
3) Update LOGSIZE accordingly in the ONCONFIG file
4) Bring informix database server online

If you are increasing the logical log size, make sure you have enough space available in the dbspace where logical logs exist.

Well, i've tryed everything, but the real problem is that this version of Informix ODS (7.23) seems not work well with W2K, cause everything is correct, but the database server does not change from offline to online, even login in with the user informix and doing all that was suggested here. The database simply can't change to online mode.
The database works, the services starts, i can access the tables, insert data and other stuff like this, the only problem is that i can't manage the logs, start the continous logical logs backup, setup the dbspace and etc.

I guess i'll give up, if anyone has more ideas please help me!
