Hi, we have installed a IDS version 7.31UC6 on a host with OS HPUX 11.10 , 64Bits.

we just change the SHMVIRTSIZE parameter to 1.600.000. According to the IBM release notes this change is perfectly supported.

However, when we runs a "onstat -g seg" the indicate virtual segment size is 1073741824.

Does somebody knows why this difference between the two values ?

I'm not completely sure, because also info regarding other segments is necessary to give a complete answer. But is it possible that you run into the maximum allowed memory for a 32-bit process. (Without any settings, I thought is was somewhere around 1.7 GB).

By the way is there a specific reason for using a 32-bit version of IDS on a 64-bit OS.
