we use Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.3 with the Server on Unix, the Clients on Windows platforms and have to develop a lot of SPL procedures. As a development tool we use the "Server Studio JE".

Some Questions:
* Is there any additional information on the workings of the Informix compiler for SPL ?
* Is there a (better/optimizing) compiler avaivable?
* What would be the best development system for that environment available?

I asked because I heard a rumor that there is a "better" SPL Compiler available from a third-party company.
