I have a informix IDS installed on my linux system

i can start the database and connect to the database from that system itself

but if i try connecting the database from any remote system

it shows 908: Attempt to connect to database server () failed.

wat all could be the possible reason for this

Please, test the sqlhosts file, name of servers, number of services, add the IP remote on /etc/hosts file and check the environment variables INFORMIXSERVER, ONCONFIG, INFORMIXSQLHOSTS.
