Hi,

I am getting the following error message while installing IDS 9.4 on HP-UX. I have tried ids_install as root and installserver as informix also have ran etc/brand.

This output is from installserver run


Installing directory .
Installing directory aaodir
Installing directory bin
etc/install: etc/brand: Execute permission denied.
Installation of IBM Informix Dynamic Server failed.

The brand file long listing
-rwxr-xr-x 1 informix informix 1132744 Dec 18 2004 brand

The path
/informix/etc

Please advise.

Hi Gagan,

Please test permissions for owner and groups of Informix, in $INFORMIXDIR, as root run chown -R informix:informix ./*
Next define INFORMIXDIR, next as user Informix, run ids_install.

Thank you for you reply, but the problem turned out to be the version, I was trying to install FC on 32 bit, where as I needed HC version.
