Dear all,
In our system we had IDS 9.40.HC4 installed (on HP-UX 11.11 OS), after upgrading to 9.40.HC7, we face the following bizarre issue, the log of the database (we have configured it to be in the onconfig.aedb : MSGPATH /home/informix/online.log )
does not get appended, meaning that the new logging information is not appended in the existing log but they overwrite the existing log. This did not happen in the past.
I would be very much obliged if you have any kind of info about this?

Please run onstat -g pos and check if $ONCONFIG is the same. Check too permissions on $INFORMIXDIR and $INFORMIXDIR/etc and $INFORMIXSIE/etc/"You File log".
