I am in the process of building a datamart on Informix Database. But I am unaware of doing the size estimation for the datamart? Is there some kind of calculation to do this?

Any insight on how to perform this is greatly appreciated.

There is not a formulates for this, depends a lot of each case. What I can suggest him is that is important that keep in mind for the layout of the database engine, a good quantity of physical disks and to distribute the raw-devices, if has Unix/Linux. This gave him better performance. Then not value as much as grow the database, the spaces were well distributed among the disks.
