Convert Char to Date datatype

Hello all, I want to convert a filed thats defined as char(10) with data looking like mm/dd/yyyy to date data type. Any easy way? Thanks in advance Jeff

I got it there was some bad data in ome columns that was not in mm/dd/yyyy format fix those and altered the data type thanks anyway Jeff
