Hi all,

I have some tapes with backups from ontape. Don't know anything else about the backups, like IDS version or database schema. The servers that made the backups don't exist anymore. How can I check the contents of the tapes, and if they are restorable?

I only have a server with IDS 7.3. I checked archecker but it needs a schema, since I don't know nothing about the database I can't create it. What can I do?

Any help will be appreciated.

Found out using dd that the backup was made in IDS 7.31.FD7.

Tried to restore using IDS 7.31.UC7 but it doesn't work. How can I upgrade from UC7 to FD7 in Solaris?

Hi, The difference betwwen the two versions. Is that the first (UC) is a 32-bit Unix version, while the second (FC) is a 64-bit Unix version. From which OS exactly cannot be decided based on the version info.
