Has anyone experienced an issue with IDS9.4 when the total memory usage reaches around 1.8G that the "on" commands fail and say that the instance is not running but it is. we see multiple errors regarding it not being up but nothing specific. We can duplicate this on 2000 and 2003 as we increase either the buffers or SHMBASE up to increase the total memory used.
the box has 3G of physical memory but we cant get near it.

Hi, don't know the details but recently I heard from a Informix technical consultant that the engine can read/address up to 1.7 GB of memory. This could explain your experiences.
