Cannot backup with TAPEBLK parameter greater than 64

When I set TAPEBLK parameter greater than 64 (128, 512), ontape backup command gives the following error:

Please mount tape 1 on /dev/st0 and press Return to continue ...
could not write archive tape.

With TABEBLK parameter 64 or 32 it works. Does anybody know what is the problem?

Thanks,
Mario

Perhaps the INFORMIX TAPEBLK parameter needs to be the same as the BLOCK size for the device as defined for the operating system. This may or may not be true but I have both set to 1024 & have never had a problem.

Thanks. I've adjust this parameter to 2048 and the result is that I could increase TAPEBLK to 512.
