Hi,

I had bring back a backup tape from my client which storing the database, they backup using ontape -s command. But when i tried to ontape -r at my side, i hit the error :-

Physical restore failed - function read archive backup failed code -1 errno 12

May i know any configuration i need to do before i can proceed to do ontape?

HI Eleyan,


The disk layout at restoration side should be same as the backed up database.
The onconfig must match and takecare of tape device parameters.

Take the databse offline and try to restore.
