I'm software developper in training and I search informations about 4GL language and his use in Informix database.

Precisely, I would like to know if Informix use the SQL language and if SQL implementation is the same as SQL Server or another DBMS.

I'm French and I don't find many informations about it.

Hi there,

4GL is a language which uses SQL too but not a SQL language. Is a programming language made by informix essencialy to use informix DBS. It is very powerfull and much more quick to develop business applications where a DBS is essencialy for it. You can try go to X-4GL Reference manual and you'll have more information.
