I am new to Informix. I am running BaaN using Informix db version 10.0FC3W4on HPUX B.11.11. I think the size is 1305360 Kbytes. The source of this number is from the top of output of command onstat -d. My system has a daily cron scheduled to run update statistics medium. It starts at 9:30 and runs until 2 am prox and this timing overlaps with some nightly jobs that make updates to the data.

I'm interested in knowing if running update statistics while changes are being made to the data base is a problem.

Also, I'm curious about the amount of time it is taking to run update statistics. Given the volume of data I have, is the run time normal?
