Enterprise replication error

I am getting the following error "Enterprise Replication not active(62)" when I do a cdr define server etc. any clues??..can I define a replicate consisting of participants from the same database server but different databases.

You can't replicate between databases inside the same databaseserver.

You might create a new databaseserver on the same machine and
then replicate between these two databaseservers. This is
possible and allowed.

Thanks for clarification. I would like to know if that is the reason that I am getting the that error "Enterprise Replication not active(62)"..do I have to something specific to enable ER feature on informix?

cdr define server will create an informix database in your informix server.
Prior to doing that you will have to update your settings in your sqlhosts file and some other easier things.
