Angry IDS 2000 on RedHat 7.3 Oninit dies... PLeASE HELP!!!

Hi,

I am trying to run IDS 2000 on a RedHat 7.3 system. The package installs fine, and I have installed my compat libraries, but when I do an oninit -i, the oninit dies while Bringing up ADM VP (see below).

[informix@lore lib]$ oninit -iv

I can't find anything relevant on google and have been able to install on RedHat 7.2 successfully. Any ideas??

Thanks

I know there is a problem with 9.3 on Redhat 7.3:
You have to relink a library,
Here is the exact error message:

./oninit: relocation error: /var/lib/libpthread.so.0: symbol __on exit,
version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference

In that case, if the procccessor in your machine is i686 compatible then the removal of a symbolic link in /var/lib/libpthread.so.0 should help.

You better check the message log for the exact errors.

Hi,

I had already removed the link /var/lib/libpthread.so.0 and here is the online.log output.. any other ideas?

Also, what version(s) of glibc do you have on your RedHat 7.3 box? This problem is on a clean install, not an upgrade. I do have another box that was upgraded from RedHat 7.2 to RedHat 7.3 that already had informix installed. Informix on the upgraded box still runs fine.

Thanks again

Bob

You have to checkk the release notes in $INFOMRIXDIR/release for the exact supported versions of glibc and kernel version.

Did you startup ids with root?
Could you try it with informix?
