we are setting up informix on VCS cluster.when initializing the database server for the first time with oninit -i the initilization goes thro' but the sysmaster db is not being created.a temp file /tmp/buildsmi.xxxx is created with the following error 922: Cannot get name of current working directory.Also in the online log file we see that sysmaster db creation failed.

when we install informix on a single node on the internal disk we don't see this problem.

we think there is some goofy the way Veritas Volume manager is handling the file system even though we can create/modify files from both the nodes on the shared disk where informix s/w and data resides but sysmaster db is not being created.

we know that there are lot of people using informix on VCS .has anyone faced this problem 922: Cannot get name of current working directory.
what is the solution.

922 is usually caused by bad permissions on the moint point.

yes that is correct.we figured it sometime back and got it fixed.missed to post the reply on ths forum.thanx
