25580 System error occurred in network function.

Hi,
I'm using IDS 7.3 on a Redhat Linux 7.2 on an IBM xseries 232 machine. I'm getting an error -25580 , a system error occured in network function.
1. In uploading data through dbimport command.
2. While running the 4GL application.

Can you give me idea how to resolve this problem?

Thank you in advance.

Tungaw

re

checking for you declaration of sqlhosts to connect network
, You can test by change the name of usage server name from network name(alias) to share memory name(server name)

IDS 25580 glibc 2.1 vs. glibc 2.2 on redhat linux

I tried to recompile glibc but i'm having problem on dependencies problem. According to informix, glibc 2.2 can only be used on an IDS 9.3/9.2, however, we have only IDS 7.3 and Redhat Linux 6.2. Can you give me a copy of glibc 2.1? or any other possible solution.

What should be the best solution you can give? I'm desperate to solve this problem.

Thanks again for the reply.

What are the setting for your NETTYPE?
How many processors on the machine?

glibc 2.2 works fine for IDS 7.3.
Check the release notes of your version.

When executing the 4GL and dbimport command, is the connection interrupted or does it continue?

Dafna

Dafna,

I have a user who is getting the message 25580: system error occurred in network function. Can you elaborate on your answer? What exactly did you mean by windows settings? What settings did you change?

Thank you!
