Is there any way to know how many users are currently connected to database and their statu through SQL statment?

Yes, it can be done through the System Monitoring Interface (SMI) tables. I believe it is the syssessions table. Since you have not worked with this before, I would spend some time getting acquainted with it and the risks. A good reference book for Informix is The Informix Handbook - it is expensive but worth it ($100) - try bookpool.com for cheap technical books.
