Informix Dynamic Server 7.3 -> 9.3 migration

I have been asked to prepare teh migration of our engine from IDS 7.3 to IDS 9.3.

We are running on AIX 4.3.3, with a database of 70GB.

I was wondering if anyone has information on that, in particular :

a) Warnings
b) Remarks/comments
c) Performances
d) Lesson learned

No big issues. This is an easy migration.

I had one issue with a reserved word: UPPER. The customer had his own UPPER function.

Check the reserved word list.

Make sure you follow the procedure mentioned in the migration guide.

You should really read the migration guide before
asking these questions.

There is no need to unload the data. You can simply upgrade
from 7.3 to 9.3 by re-starting the databaseserver with the
new software.
