Ontape

hi, when i use the ontape, is usually this error:

Archive failed - function write to tape failed code -1 errno 5

and i dont know because failed, i changed the tapes, and begin to began...

errno 5 is i/o error.

Change your tape. Write to the new tape using the
standard tar-command to see if the tape is ok.

If this works, try again with 'ontape'.

If it still fails, reduce your TAPESIZE onconfig parameter.
Begin to test with a relative small TAPESIZE setting in
order to see if this works.

I forgot to mention TAPEBLK
.
You might also change this parameter if it still isn't
working.

I have read that max TAPESIZE must be 2Gb, ¿ is certain? that I do not have it equal in the servers. In this moments is different 4Gb, 14Gb or 1,4Gb perhaps this is too great.

2 GB is only the TAPESIZE limit if you want to backup
to disk.

If you are backing up to tape, there is no informix limit.
The limit the max. that your tape drive allows.
