Red face Shmbase

We are using IDS 9.3

In one of the instances the SHMBASE is set to a different address other
than mentioned in the release notes.

But the applications are running on this instance.

Will it cause any problem?

Thanks,
Ramesh

As long as no application will try to allocate some mem in the address space of IDS.

The SHMBASE is especially usefull when you want to allocate 2GB on a 32 bit system..

Arrow

The SHMBASE address changed AUTOMATICALLY when I shifted logical logs from rootdbs to a different dbspace, and in the process I deleted all the logical logs belonging to root.

Could this be the reason?

Thanks,
Ramesh

If that's the reason it is an 'undocumented feature'...
