Has anybody got any idea of Side Instance Recovery in Informix.

I usually follow the following steps,

1. Server number needs to remain same
2. Server name can be different
3. Copy ixbar.servernum from the old machine to the new machine ( at $INFORMIXDIR/etc )
4. Copy oncfg_servername.servernum from old machine to the target machine (at $INFORMIXDIR/etc)
5. Run the whole system recovery.

Is this the correct process?

You will probably need your $ONCONFIG too and will have to setup a new sqlhosts file

Don't forget the storage manager configuration
