Dear All,

I need to install IDS 9.21 on Sun Solaris 8. I need tips from you all. I have a 9GB Hard Disk with 1GB RAM. I will have around 40 tables, out of which in 5-6 tables there would be around 10,000 tables. In a year we would have around 1/2 million data & we need to store them form about a year & then we can purge them. I would need your advice as to how do i go about in creating my instance. How many chunks, dbspaces do i need to have, what would be their size. How many physical/logical logs do i need to have & their sizes. How do i have my backup strategy. I would appreciate your prompt reply. Thanks in advance.
