Exclamation ontape -r (Could not fork server connection)

Hi ALL !
Linux RH 7.3
IDS 2000 v 9.21

I try to restore backup (user informix). This backup created on other server
After message "would you like to backup the logs .. n"
created error:

Could not fork server connection.

But under root backup restored succesfully.
----------------
I try :
oninit -ivy (under informix)
It's work good.

I check onconfig parameters:
TAPEDEV , TEPESIZE, LTAPEDEV, LTAPESIZE
It's correct.
What must I do?
What Informix write on the disk during ontape -r

Help me, Please !

Sounds like permissions - ROOT has them, Informix doesn't. Either it's the chunks or one of the "work" files the server creates when it's operating (that didn't get cleaned up properly.

We always do our restores from ROOT, since that's who owns the backup files in the Tivoli storage manager. Since 9.2, even though the instance is brought up under Informix, the thread that onbar spawns run's as root - hence the Tivoli ownership issue.
