connect to informix(Unix) from Win 2000! HELP

i am new to informix, i am writing and application using VB6 and the database relies on a unix machine(informix). I have tried to create a data source using CR INFORMIX9 driver, but the drive is not working!
with error[specified driver could not be loaded due to system error]

Hi,

In Windows you need install Client-SDK, next configure this running setnet32.

Add in %WINDIR%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts, the host server and add in %WINDIR%\system32\drivers\etc\services, name and number service.
Please read Ibm-Informix Administrator Guide documentation.

i have been to the IBM website, got this

i have downloaded the Client SDK!!! but dont know how it works

.i have tryed to fill in the server information, cant see it much happening!!
will client SDK enable VB6 to acces the informix server? and How?i am lost need help!

do you have i-connect installed in your vb development pc with odbc and setnet32(iconnect) setup properly? don't forget your services file also.

Yes I have Cliente SDK, when i try to create a server it give me an erro "COUNL NOT OPEN REGISTRY"... on the environment tab(in Setnet32) are all variables mandatory?which ones are encential?are there any special setting that need to be changed on the unix machine?
