Hi all,
I tryed to backup my informix database by the following command:
"ontape -s -L 0" but it shows "DBSpace dbspace1 disabled" and the program is over.


I don't have any backup of this dbspace.

Wat can i do ?? please give a help

Hi,

Please test the following points:

_ Correct environment variables.
_ On-Line must be mode "on-Line", "Quiescent" or "Fast-Recovery".
_ Variables in ONCONFIG file: TAPEDEV, TAPEBLK and TAPESIZE.

If not work, please send me you ONCONFIG file, onstat -d and on-line.log, if it's posible.

Hi,

You have a dbspace "datadbs00", some chunks DOWN.
Please restart this from archive.
Or run utility onspaces for take the chunk to on-line and then oncheck all tables in this dbspace.

Is it normal that the free space for chunk that are down is Zero ?

Call up tech support , they will have to dial-in and mark the chunks "Online" , this is your only way out.
Don't mess with it anymore than it is, it would only cause more issues.
