Using the Oracle JDeveloper tool and having difficulty, I am following a set of tutorials and not having the desired results. I have found that when I edit the View Object and view the default query generated by the tool, the query is invalid.

Also when I click the 'Expert Mode' check-box and substitute a valid query and then 'Run' the page , rows are returned but the data elements on the page appear blank.

What is the connection between the data elements and the displayed page?

Why is the page displayed with the data elements appearing blank? (The page indicates that many rows were returned)
