Senior ETL Designer/Developer

Our client is looking for a Senior ETL Designer/Developer with more than 10 years of experience in Data Warehouse Projects. In depth design and development experience in Ab Initio is must. Excellent communication skills and leadership experience is important for this role.

Duration: 10 months plus

Location: Richmond VA

Required Skills:
• 4+yrs experience designing and developing using Ab Initio Tool ( Candidates with 6 + years of solid Informatica or other ETL tool experience may be considered in place of Ab Initio Experience)
• 10+ years Data warehouse design and development experience including in depth ETL design experience
• Must have an advanced demonstrated proficiency programming in Ab initio language
• Experience working with multiple RDBMS, including Teradata
• Experience working with Ab Initio EME
• Experience working on large Datawarehouse/Data Migration projects is a must
• Financial industry experience would be a big plus

Responsibilities:
• Design Develop, Test and Implement Ab Initio ETL graphs from business requirements
• Use Ab Initio to create Summary tables using Rollup and Aggregate components
• Provide performance tuning of Ab Initio graphs by employing Ab Initio performance components like Lookups (instead of joins), In-Memory Joins and rollups to speed up execution.
• Modify Ab Initio graph solutions utilizing proper file/component layout or parallelism
• Create mapping documents to develop source to target mappings of each fields in graph.
• Deploy solutions that demonstrate detailed knowledge usage of Ab Initio libraries/directories
• Design/ develop Ab Initio custom components
• Design and deliver metadata driven solutions (e.g. parsing metadata defined interfaces, parameters, environment variables.)
• Ability to identify performance bottlenecks in graphs
• Apply knowledge of performance tuning in Ab Initio specific solutions.
• Uses Company approved design tools and product development methodology to build applications
• Ensures code complies with company's architectural standards.
• Give advice and guidance to junior members of the team.
