DB2 DBA (UDB) resource needed, MN

We have a client who is in need of an experienced DB2 DBA with UDB experience who will be responsible for the database creation, migration, recovery, backup and tuning of the DB2 tables and related activities. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a computer related field is required. Candidate must have desire to work effectively as a member of an extended support team, be able to grasp new technologies quickly, demonstrate personal initiative, and be able to work in a self-directed environment with limited supervision or direction. Candidate must possess strong verbal and written communications skills. Preferred technical background includes Data Base Administrator (DBA) experience with DB2 UDB running on a UNIX platform, preferably AIX. Experience in designing and managing large Data Warehouse Databases a plus. Candidates should have two or more years experience as a Systems Database administrator or a UNIX System Administrator in a clustered, high availability environment, preferably HACMP. Additional training is available for the right candidate.

The selected candidate will become a member of a team responsible for maintaining/enhancing their large scale data repository.

Start Date - 1/1/2005
Location - Minnesota
Duration - 12 month contract
