Houston TX

7 yrs experience in Database Admin

Solid skills in Data base performance Factors, monitoring tools and Tuning Procedures.

Fault Detection and resolution process.

Solid UNIX shell Scripting Skills

Respond and Resolve helpdesk DBMS support tickets.

Install and upgrade Sybase and MS SQL servers. Apply vendor-supplied patches to the DBMS.

Monitor DBMS performance using provided monitoring tools, and perform tuning as necessary to achieve optimal performance.

Perform regular maintenance jobs to keep the DBMS at peek performance.

Analyze, detect and correct corruption in the database.

Provide Onsite and Offsite (On Call) support.

Escalate issues to Vendor support / provide root cause / incident reports.

Strong knowledge of Service Delivery and Client management.

Candidate must have solid Sybase DBA skills with extensive knowledge of Sybase Replication Server.

Must have excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills. Must program in Korn Shell and Perl. UDB experience is huge PLUS! MS SQL is a plus.

Production database support experience is required for Sybase ASE (11.9.2, 12.x), Sybase Rep Server (11.5, 12.x), UDB (7.0) on Sun Solaris platform.

7 yrs experience in Oracle Database Admin must be skilled in Oracle 9i.

Experience in UNIX environment (Preferably, SUN Solaris). Knowledge of shell and Perl scripting is a plus.

Must be proficient in Oracle Dataguard.
Familiarity with Oracle 10g and Linux a plus

Experience support of technology infrastructure equipment and services.
Working on complex issues.

Capacity planning expertise.

Storage management experience.
