Architect, implement, and maintain database systems, data migration plans, data replication schemes, and data interface projects
Interact with both internal and external customers to establish database requirements and implement solutions to those requirements
Perform data analysis and loading as required to support business systems
Provide data and database design expertise and coordinate with existing data owners and I/S DBA’s
Install, setup, configure, support, design, and backup/recovery of SQL Server databases
Analyze, predict, and resolve database, system, storage and application issues
DTS design and support, optimize TSQL code and methodologies
Implement, update and support database Log Shipping and SQL Replication as required.
Support development and deployment of software applications
Manage SQL Servers within two global domains, private and public
Review and recommend the purchase of associated database software tools and hardware.
Engage in continuous process improvement
Stay fully abreast of trends and changing technologies as they relate to IT and Network Engineering and Administration field
Strong understanding of Interconnected Enterprise Network Environment, Data Center Management
Administration of Distributed Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, TCP/IP, SAN technologies
Support and configuration expertise of IBM/HP/Dell Server class machines, including RAID levels
Perform MS operating system patch management
Perform management of server based virus protection
Shared on call rotation Corporate SQL support (24/7)
LAN/Server on call shared rotation support
Perform other duties as assigned

MS patch management experience
Virus protection in a server environment
Microsoft SQL Server installation, management, and support in Microsoft Windows Cluster environments.

Understanding and implementation of Microsoft SQL Server best practices within a highly available production environment.

MSDBA and/or MCSE certification desired
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 is required; Microsoft SQL Server 2005 experience also desired
