Participates in the design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's databases. Duties are split between database design and database maintenance, backup/recovery tasks and production support. Gathers business requirements for logical and/or physical database design. Performs design activities with guidance. With some guidance and the use of tools, completes moderately complex testing, maintenance and monitoring tasks; works on software installations. Supports senior staff in data integrity and recovery activities. Participates in projects, usually in a coordinator or support role. May execute database management policies and standards.

Minimum Qualifications
* Strong oral and written communication skills as well as excellent analytical/problem solving skills.
* Experience in installing and upgrading SQL Server, monitoring the health of servers and tuning accordingly, setting up storage properly, and performing backup and recovery duties.
* Experience with DTS packages, SSIS, SQL Profiler, database replication, windows clustering, and the ability to work with developers in establishing good database designs.
* Must be willing to be on call and perform implementations during non-business hours.
