DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR
Main Duties
Design, install and support Oracle RDBMS and its related products and technologies.
Develop scripts, stored procedures, triggers and database software packages.
Implement database backup and validate recovery plans
Design database security roles; enroll users and audit database security
Tune databases and plan capacity. Monitor database events, troubleshoot faults and resolve problems.
Follow change management policies to migrate corrections and enhancements through database environments.
Provide disk space analysis and database growth reports.
Provide back tier support for databases
Ensure RDBMS availability and integrity on 24x7x365
Provide 24x7x365 production support
Provide after hours and on-call support as required.
Service requests from customers.
Develop database/application migration plans - data, database objects, scripts
Distribute database performance statistics to application owners
Conduct database maintenance
Maintain user access and application access in the databases
Apply database patches and upgrades
Perform PeopleSoft application and Oracle E-Business upgrades
Apply PeopleSoft application patches
Apply Oracle E-Business patches
Refresh non production databases with production data
Clone databases
Monitor database events, troubleshoot faults and resolve problems.
Ensure normal operation in all databases and database related environments (not limited to prod only)
Perform troubleshooting of all databases and database related environments (not limited to prod only)
Provide inputs on the database design to the High Level Design documentation
Provide consultation and support to application team or other IT functional departments.
Provide scripts and documentation for Disaster and Recovery.
Perform annual database backup restore test for all production databases
Participate in all required meetings
Required Knowledge: Necessary job knowledge of factual data, methods, process and theoretical knowledge.

Proficiency in Oracle partitioning, RAC, ASM, Advanced Security, Data Encryption, Data Guard
Proficiency in Oracle backup and recovery techniques including RMAN, EDM Legato, Online backup
Proficiency in Oracle Grid Control, OEM, Context Management.
Proficiency in performance tuning
Strong knowledge or Oracle & PL/ SQL, Unix and shell scripting
Strong analytical & problem solving skills.
Knowledge of data migration, data archiving and data access techniques.
Proficiency in Oracle Application Express (HTML DB)

Special Requirement:
Licensing, travel, working conditions, varying work hours, overtime, etc.
On-call on rotation basis. Weekend implementation and maintenance support. Limited travel.
