JOB SUMMARY (brief overview)

The primary responsibility is to provide design, planning, implementation and administration for the Citrix server environment within Sunrise Senior Living, Inc. This engineering position is responsible for ensuring production accessibility and reliability through planning, design and advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution. This position is considered essential and some on call is required.

DECISION-MAKING LATITUDE

This position is expected to work with autonomy within policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education/Certifications: College or technical degree desired
B. Experience: Five to Seven Years experience with large/mid-sized server architecture
C. C. Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
? MCSE with at least 5 years of experience
? Expert knowledge of Citrix
? Proven experience with Windows 2000 & 2003 server suite including hands on experience including: install, routine maintenance, disk quotas, share/ntfs permissions, event log monitoring, IIS, FTP, and SMTP.
? Expert knowledge of Internet Information Server, SQL Server, Transaction Server, Systems Management Server, Terminal Server
? Proven experience with Active Directory, Exchange 2003
? Proven experience supporting a mixed environment
? Proficient use of debugging, analysis, and monitoring tools
? Theory and operations of backup systems. This includes the entire backup/restoration process for all supported servers/services.
? Design and implementation of security best practices for servers and services.
? Strong scripting skills required
? Applied knowledge on SANs, clustering, mirroring, fault tolerance technologies. - Strong
Thorough understanding of systems monitoring, and long term trending of SLA, performance, and sizing metrics.
? Experience with Group Policies to manage Microsoft Windows workstations
? Experience with switching, routing, VLan, firewall, proxy, VPN and load-balancing technologies a plus.
? Knowledgeable about security practices
? Excellent communication skills
