A client of our in Springfield, VA., a leader in information, intelligence and innovation services are looking for an Oracle DBA to work with the Department of Commerce on site.


Qualified Candidates will possess the following:

Experience with business systems analysis and design, logical data modeling techniques and productivity tools and software.

Knowledge of data analysis, DBMS and database management techniques.

5 Years of total experience performing all duties of database management.

Experience with business systems analysis and design, logical data modeling techniques and productivity tools and software.

Knowledge of data analysis, DBMS and database management techniques.

Working knowledge of several industry standard database tools. Installation, upgrades, and configuration of Oracle databases.

BS/BA CS, CIS, EE, Math or equivalent technical studies.

Must be eligible for a Secret Level Clearance.







Responsibilities include the following:



Able to work as a lead on the database component of an application development project.

Able to mentor junior staff.

Able to provide some technical leadership on database issues.

Setup of new databases to meet customer business needs

Daily support and maintenance of databases

Perform continuous monitoring and tuning of performance bottlenecks

Perform proactive monitoring and analysis of the Oracle log files and processes

Implement and maintain backups, Disaster Recovery (DR) plans and DR restoration testing scenarios

Perform table layout design, table space maintenance and user maintenance

Monitor system resources and estimate the hardware and software resources required to run Oracle databases

Assist customers with database design and tuning of SQL statements and programs for efficiency

Administer customer production implementations

Application programming support
