The MySpace.com Data Services team is responsible for data architecture, data infrastructure and operations for all MySpace.com data systems. The data developer will be a member of the Strategic Architecture and Development team. The candidate will be part of a team responsible for gathering and developing requirements for large scale distributed data systems. The candidate will work closely with the data architects and designer on data developer to support MySpace features, working closely with application developers and product management.


Required Skills:
• Minimum 4-6 years experience in the design and development of data systems and services focusing on scalability and high performance
• Demonstrated experience with SQL development in a transactional environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience developing complex stored procedures and other database objects optimized for high transactional performance
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or 2005 engine
• Experience with XML, XQuery, DOM, DTDs, XML Schemas and XML parsing tools preferred but not required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

The candidate needs to work well in a high pressure team environment with a strong focus on Agile development processes. The candidate should be able to handle operational responsibilities with respect to the data systems’ the candidate works on.
