Business Analyst - SQL, Cupertino, CA

Symantec is hiring a Business Analyst on the product management team to conduct analyses of the business performance for Symantec’s Norton branded consumer security products across all channels and worldwide markets. This individual will be responsible for analyzing, reporting, and providing insights on optimization initiatives designed to improve conversion and retention rates of Norton products.

In this role, the individual will:
•Evaluate the performance of campaigns and optimization initiatives (e.g., online campaigns, revised in-product features/messaging, website features, etc.) to acquire/convert new customers and retain existing customers
•Work closely with a cross-functional team of sales, finance, marketing, and product managers to understand market dynamics and devise effective analytical techniques to support key strategic business decisions
•Create and maintain weekly reports to monitor ongoing business results and communicate updates of key business metrics
•Conduct ad hoc data queries and analysis to provide data based rationale to support key strategic business decisions
•Identify new optimization opportunities that can drive growth of the Norton business

•Must have strong technical experience with databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle) and reporting tools, and strong proficiency with writing SQL queries
•Familiarity with HTML and related charting tools
•Solid grasp of quantitative analysis and statistics
•Familiarity with Web scripting (javascript) would be a plus
•Ability to organize, present, and explain complex data in a clear manner
•Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or closely related discipline preferred
•Previous experience as a business analyst (5+ years)
