Job Description: Serve as the Specialist to lead the effort to work with the current architect, design, plan, test, and implement the migration to the new Microsoft solution which includes platform and storage solutions and associated processes that will yield improved availability, performance, security, and support for current and future applications.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

• Project manage, architect, design, implement & manager Active Directory & Windows Server 2008 for network infrastructure management & security.

• Architect, manage & implement a highly available clustered Microsoft SQL 2005 on an ISCSI network with geographic redundancy.

• Migrate file & print services from Novell NDS to NetApp & Windows server 2008

• Architect & implementation of ISA 2006.

• Integrate 802.11x Wireless implementation between Active Directory and Cisco ACS

• Deploy & Document LDAPS integration with Cisco ACS, wireless infrastructure.

• Architect & implementation a secured workstation environment using Windows 2008 GPO Architect & implementation backup and recovery in a Virtualized environment.

• Architect & implementation of Advanced Microsoft technologies, specifically Clustering & NLB on Windows Server 2008.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• Due to the Agency’s extensive Microsoft environment, the candidate is required to possess the following valid certifications and qualifications:

• Windows 2003 MCSE

• MCDBA / MCTS

• Sun Solaris Certified

• BS in Information Technology / Computer Science and a minimum of 10 years experience of hands on networking with a strong emphasis on Microsoft architecture

• Experience with migrations from Novell to Microsoft environment, utilizing the Windows 2008 / Active Directory design

• Practical experience with Windows 2003/2008, Active Directory, SAN, ISCSI, SQL, LDAPS, 802.11x, SSL, HTTPS, GPO, NLBS, Clustering and load balancing, Quest Active Roles, Quest Intrust, Microsoft ILM or MIIS, Symantec backup exec, DNS, WINS, DHCP.

• Virtualization & Consolidation with VMware ESX or Windows 2008 Hyper-V design and implementation

• Must possess strong verbal and excellent written communications skills, technology leadership, training and mentoring skills, and exhibit team oriented approach.

• Must work effectively in a team environment, work well under the challenge of demanding workloads and aggressive deadlines, be flexible, and respond positively to change.



DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• MS SharePoint design and implementation

• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and determine own priorities working

with IT related projects

• Ability and willingness to travel within the NYC 5 Boroughs as needed to support the individual offices
