Software Engineer, GUI Developer (3D engineering simulation software)

We are currently working with a client in western Pennsylvania to fill a full-time position for a GUI Development Software Engineer. This position is for someone with acute attention to detail who is excited about programming and problem-solving.

About the hiring company
The company develops, sells and supports a line of 3D engineering simulation software; e.g., structural and fluid dynamics, complex coupled-physics behavior, EM fields, short/high deformation, large strain, fracture or complete material failure, etc.

The company is stable, in business since 1970 with 60 offices throughout the world, employs 1,600 professionals (includes subsidiaries), and has partners in over 40 countries.

The package
The compensation is competitive, includes bonus eligibility, a relocation package, reimbursement of expenses for on-site interviewing, full benefits package, and the client will consider visa sponsorship for qualified and successful job applicants. Also to know is that travel is not involved in this position.

Responsibilities include designing and developing GUI software, defining new product features, participating in development planning/scheduling and software architecture, maintaining the products and investigating and fixing bugs.

Requirements
• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills
• Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
• 2-5 years experience designing and developing user interface software for technical applications
• Familiar with EDA design flow and FEM field simulation
• GUI development, substantial programming experience in C++ with MFC
• Experience with development tools such as Rally, Visio, or Purity
• Must display ability to work well with others in a diverse team environment
• Previous CAD software development is a plus
• Open GL for 3D graphics is also a plus
