Relevant Experience (Yrs) : 7-10 Yrs as Oracle DBA

Technical/Functional Skills : Handles databases as they pertain to specific applications or business units and/or provides the ongoing production support of existing databases with moderate to high complexity and scope, utilizing standard procedures and techniques.

Experience Required : Good Hands on experience & sound knowledge as Oracle DBA. Experience in handling Oracle DBA activities in Production environment involving multiple applications & huge databases.
Strong Work experience in RAC, Data Guard, Back up tasks Knowledge of DBMS recovery tools and techniques.
Knowledge of DBMS security. Experience in Oracle 11g RAC is a plus. Experience in DB2 to Oracle Conversion is a plus Experience in handling PeopleSoft databases(optional)

Roles & Responsibilities : Assists in making applications production ready by preparing and implementing all relevant DBA processes including job creation / implementation / scheduling and operations coordination. Participates in design discussions and information engineering sessions regarding database environment Creates testing, staging, and integration environment databases as required using appropriate database tools. Reviews and corrects logical data model for completeness.
Monitors the health/performance attributes of the DBMS environment and suggests changes to the environment to maximize performance using current database tools Designs optimal access paths to the data based on the user access requirements.
Reviews SQL and provides recommendations for improvement.
Implements effective recovery procedures to support mission critical database applications. Assists in implementing disaster recovery strategies.
Understands and uses recovery management tools.

Generic Managerial Skills: Ability to work and direct work on multiple projects. Demonstrate collaboration with team members, and solid leadership skills when leading others.

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
