Contract-To-Hire Position
Location: Northampton, MA 01060

A. POSITION SUMMARY
Manages the Software Development Environment (SDE) and the Production environment of the PLM system. Responsible for establishing policies and procedures to ensure configuration control of all software assets. Responsible for the Development and Production databases, including security, availability, recoverability, and performance, as well as management of the database software and hardware infrastructure.

B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Works with the PLM Engineering Administrator to plan, organize, coordinate, direct, and control the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. Shares responsibility for short-term and long-term planning to ensure PLM system meets company objectives.
Performs Database Administrator (DBA) functions for assigned databases.
Plans, develops, and prepares software enhancements and performs Software Configuration Management (SCM) functions. Prepares test plans and procedures and performs developer-level unit, system, and regression testing for enhancement packages. Maintains configuration control log of application and system software.
Monitors database, file management server, application server, and business services logs for trends and errors and takes corrective action as necessary. Performs daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on development and production database and application servers.
Works with the PLM Engineering Administrator to establish and maintain the PLM system training program and develop training curriculum, prepare and maintain training materials, and conduct training classes.
Provides customer support to the user community as required.
Monitors data consistency with subordinate AS400 system. Performs corrective action as necessary.

C. SECONDARY DUTIES
Serve as a back up to the PLM Administrator.
Assist with special projects to support division/department initiatives.

Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Configuration Management II (CMII) Certification
Experience in project planning, organizing and directing.
A minimum of four years’ experience as a database administrator (DBA). Experience with DDL/DML and fluency in SQL and PL/SQL. Proficient with Oracle database management tools as well as database normalization, sizing, and tuning.
A minimum of four years’ PLM system administration experience with Eigner PLM. Thorough knowledge of vaulting, workflow, configuration management and change management.
Dataview/Logiview programming experience and a working knowledge of TCL.
Proficient in creating operating system scripts.
Well versed and proficient in data migration technologies
