Position: Network Administrator
Duration: 1+ year
Location: Austin, Texas
Client: Texas Education Agency (TEA).

Minimum Requirements:

6 Experience installing new / rebuilding existing servers and configuring hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
6 Installation and configuration experience with systems such as supports Education Data Warehouse applications
6 Experience providing other support per request from various constituencies. Investigating and troubleshooting issues.
6 Experience doing research and recommending innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Experience identifying approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
6 Experience performing daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
6 Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
6 Experience performing daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
4 Experience performing regular file archival and purge as necessary.
4 Experience creating, changing and deleting user accounts per request
4 Experience developing and maintaining installation and configuration procedures
4 Experience contributing to and maintaining system standards
4 Experience applying OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configuring and adding new services as necessary.
4 Experience with capacity planning.
5 Experience repairing and recovering from hardware or software failures as well as Coordinating and communicating with impacted constituencies.
5 Experience upgrading and configuring system software that supports Education Data Warehouse infrastructure per project or operational needs.
5 Experience with ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
