RESPONSIBILITIES:



As a member of Data Warehouse team, the candidate will be playing key role in the Operation team for the /Data Warehouse project. The Data Warehouse is an enterprise-wide web application that brings administrative and financial data to NIH user community. The candidate will be involved in developing/maintaining the COBOL/DB2 programs on Mainframe. Other tasks include analyzing errors, troubleshooting issues , developing bug-fixes, involving in performance tuning efforts.

• Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining programs in COBOL in an OS/390 (MVS/ZOS) mainframe environment using DB2.

• Responsible for enhancements to the existing systems on Mainframe as needed.

• Responsible for scheduling and monitoring the Jobs and status reporting

• Responsible for tuning the nightly batch processes as needed.

• Assists in resolving production support problems. Develops and suggests alternative approaches to resolving problems.

• Willingness to provide nightly operational support in case of batch issues or failures.

• Willingness to support ETL jobs and other operational tasks based on Informatica PowerCenter/ Oracle on UNIX systems

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 5+ years of experience with MVS COBOL, JCLs, MVS utilities and other DB2 utilities

• Familiarity with Data Warehouse concepts including Star Schema or ER Modeling.

• Hands on experience with Informatica Power Center would be a Plus

• Experience in the development and maintenance of SQL, Oracle, PL/SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions and triggers would be a plus

• Experience with UNIX knowledge, shell-scripting and CRON knowledge a plus
