Database Analyst/Developer

Location: Fort Meade, MD
Clearance: DoD Secret (can start with Interim Secret).


MSI is seeking an experienced Database Analyst for a position at Ft. Meade, MD. An active Secret clearance is preferred but client will accept clearable candidates. This job will support the Applications Team for the Department Of Defense’s Defense Media Activity (DMA).

Responsibilities:

• Perform data analysis, data cleansing, and identifying and resolving data anomalies/issues.
• Devise logical, efficient, automated and repeatable means and methods of data mapping and import/export of existing data elements to/from other databases or spreadsheets.
• Determine data relationships of data elements, query development, and data trending.
• Data manipulation in Excel and Relational Databases.
• Data verification ensuring data accuracy and data integrity.

Required Skills:
• Bachelor Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional SDLC experience.
• 3+ years of SQL development experience, MS Windows and MS SQL Server.
• Strong data analysis, logical and physical data modeling.
• Strong understanding of data models, data attributes, data relationships and data dictionary.
• Proficient with database SQL queries and the creation of import/export scripts.
• Expertise with ERD diagrams and DB tools (e.g. TOAD).
• Extensive backend development experience creating and using SQL, Store Procedures, DB triggers and DB views.
• Experience designing and developing ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) solutions.
• Experience with troubleshooting applications and strong problem solving ability.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with team members.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be a US Citizen in order to obtain a clearance.

Desired Skills:
• Experience with Crystal Reports,/Business Objects.
• Experience with DoD Human Resource systems (e.g. CMIS).
